POSITION TITLE:           Quality Technician

SHIFT:                                3^rd (10pm-6am) Sunday - Thursday

FLSA:                                  Salary Non Exempt (eligible for OT)

SALARY:                            $46,500 + Monthly Bonus

SUMARRY

Responsible for auditing activities associated with quality control specifications and auditing operating procedures.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform audits of the sheets coming off the corrugator looking for any non-conforming product.
• Perform audits of finished boxes coming off finishing machines looking for any non-conformance in procedures.
• Perform audits of finished units coming off banders and handling of forklifts looking for any non-conformance.
• Perform quality tests as needed for customer demand.
• Maintain sampling for plant and corporate testing.
• Ensure calibration of all lab equipment and measuring equipment supplied to converting operations.
• Work with corrugator department, converting department, and shipping department on any non-conforming material and isolating and maintaining to customer’s needs.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Exceptional MS Access and Excel skills
• Preferred Six Sigma Green Belt

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.  Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 The performance of the employee will be measured as follows:

• Operating standards - the employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction and productivity.  Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the employee.
