Position: Business Development Manager

Report to: Account Manager

This position is physically located in Phoenix, Arizona

Pratt Industries is looking for a Business Development Manager to help support an important account. The Product Manager will act as the liaison between account management, sourcing, vendor management, procurement and making sure the assigned project remains on its critical path. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

  • Strategy & Vision: Define the product vision, long-term strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the customer, deeply understanding user needs through research and feedback.
  • Requirements & Prioritization: Gather, analyze, and prioritize product requirements and features, creating clear specifications for development.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and support to bring the product to market.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the product from conception, development, launch, to iteration and end-of-life.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis: Stay informed on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer desires.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track product performance, analyze data, and use insights to guide future development. 
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate with the sales team for feedback on current/future products. Provide the sales team with training and technical knowledge to help sell the product and professional services

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have:

  • 4 Year Bachelor Degree
  • Preferred experience in Product Development.
  • Strong Computer Skills (Windows, Email, Word, Excel, Team Work/Project Scheduling)
  • Willingness to learn
  • Overriding customer service orientation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong accuracy working with numbers
  • Demonstrates leadership ability and can work in a team environment
  • Can martial resources (people, support) to get things done
  • This position will work both independently and as part of a team and requires a helpful and cooperative attitude, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value. 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Computer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel as well as ERP software)

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  Vision requirements include:  close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
