About this role

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Primary job duty is to provide relief for Processing, Receiving, Lab, Fillers, Sanitation, Blow Mold and Warehouse vacations, personal holidays, and sick leave as needed.

    Duties include operating and cleaning the High Temperature Short Time pasteurization unit to include being efficient in mixing and pasteurizing by-products both milk and juice.

    Understand the operation of the separator, homogenizer, vitamin pump, CIP systems, and HTST

    Be able to wash all tanks and line circuits with the CIP system.

    Be able to operate all fillers to include cleanup.

    Be able to receive raw milk and load out cream performing all necessary quality and accountability checks.

    Operate all equipment associated with the Blow Mold operation.

    Understand and perform all the established quality assurance tests utilized in the lab.

    Order and receive packaging and ingredients. 

    Maintain open communications with Utility People, Receiving, Processing, Filling and Blow Mold operators.

    Complete all duties in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), State and Federal regulations and company/plant safety policies.

    Display a high level of professionalism.

    A proven attendance / reliability record

    Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education, Experience and Training – a high school diploma or its equivalent are needed.     

    Flexibility – must be available to work flexible schedules with changing start times when needed.

    Attitude – must be customer service oriented.

    Dependability – must have a good attendance record.

    Solid understanding of GMP, and state/ federal regulations and practices.

    The ability to work well with others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Stand, walk, kneel and bend - this position will require standing/walking for Virtually the entire shift.  

    Lift, carry, push and pull - these activities are done in all aspects of this job with lifting weight limits up to 50 pounds.

    Physical dexterity - good manual dexterity is required.

    Climbing, Balance and Heights – Some work on ladders is required.

    Communication skills - good communication skills are required to deal effectively with co-workers.

    Must be safety conscious

    Must be flexible to changes

    Decision-maker and performance oriented

    Problem solving

    Must work within strict operating standards to meet Prairie Farms, state and federal guidelines.

    Basic mathematical skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Hard and sometimes slippery floors

    Temperature range from 50 to 100 degrees F.

    Noisy

    Wet environment at times.

    Cleaning chemicals

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS:

    Personal protective equipment required includes bump cap, hearing protection, and rubber boots. Personal protective equipment may also include other items as dictated by the work being done.

    Processing/ packaging equipment including: HTST, Separator, Homogenizer, plant air system, plant hydraulic system, plant boiler system. 

    Hairnets are required.

    Uniforms are provided and must be worn.

Other: 

Rate of Pay: $23.70 base rate + $0.30 premiums 

Schedule:  6:30 pm – 5:00 am Sunday night, Monday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night
