WAREHOUSE – JOB DESCRIPTION
The following job description is designed for the warehouse (dry goods/shipping and receiving) position. The position is responsible for receiving ingredients and packing to ensure all meet specifications, as well as food safety and quality requirements. The position responsibilities shall be, but are not limited to the functions listed below:
Skills and Qualifications:
General Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Shall have attended GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness, and Allergen Training
Shall meet all requirements of the SQF Program, Levels 1-3
Received training in appropriate PC’s
Shall comply with all GMP Requirements
Shall comply with all Safety Rules and Policies
Duties and Responsibilities:
Dry Ingredient and Packing Receiver Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Was the vehicle sealed and/or locked upon arrival
Check the receiving tickets to validate quality
Evaluate the delivery for
Product identification and labeling legible lot codes
Ensuring the product labels contain the proper allergen declaration
Packing condition and/or product integrity (Ex. Bulging, leaking, dirt/grime, torn bags, bug/insects, damage)
Record all information on the facilities receiving documents
Count all items and record. Attach all packing slips, COA’s dated and signed by the receiver and turn in all paperwork.
When product or trailer damage is apparent or the truck is not clean, notify the Production Manager or the front office. A Deviation/Corrective Action form will need to be completed
Proper labeling of date to ensure FIFO (First in, first out)
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 pounds by yourself throughout your 8-to-10-hour shift
Stand for 7+ hours throughout your 8 to 10-hour shift
Work up to 6 days a week for 8 to 10 hours each day
Frequently bend and twist at the waist, climb stairs, reach and stretch overhead level with both arms
Have normal vision/eyesight and hearing with corrective devices if needed
Training/Certifications:
These are not required but are good to have training in:
Forklift training or certification
Scissor Lift training
Pallet jack experience or training
