Account Manager - position overview:

The territory for this position is: East side of Marion County, Hancock County, Shelby County, and Rush County

The Account manager will be the primary point of contact for each sales chain. (S)he will be responsible for coordinating all sales activities within their assigned market. Will provide regular customer contact and service to established accounts. Will actively seek to acquire new customers. (S)he will conduct monthly business reviews with the key contacts at each chain. Communicate and execute all distribution voids. Daily store visits to follow up on execution. Reporting and tracking of sales weekly. There will be a minimum of one market ride with each branch manager per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Controlling Accounts Receivable

o Responsible for monitoring your customer’s accounts receivable and resolving any problems that arise with the account or office.

• Introducing New Items

o (S)he will be responsible for presenting new items to accounts and assist dairy or store manager with placing new items on the shelf, tagging the item, and getting the UPC and cost information into the scanning system, if necessary, or whatever else needs to be done to obtain shelf space.

• Surveying Retail Stores

o Periodically run price survey of sales area and present to our customers in the area you are surveying.

• Inspecting Dairy and Ice Cream Cases

o Regular inspections of cases are a must. Fill out forms for company records. You will check for codes and temperature. Also, inspect walk-in coolers.

• Assisting with Case Resets

o Assist store personnel with milk and ice cream resets.

• Sales Promotions

o Setup weekly/monthly promotions.

• Communicate with Order Entry

o Assist order entry in gathering orders from customers when requested.

• Resolving Problems

o Will be responsible for resolving any problems that may arise with your accounts concerning product, delivery, billing, production, and/or consumer complaints.

• Assisting with Trade Shows

o Will be responsible for setting up and tearing down trade shows and also attending as scheduled.

• Running Routes

o May be called to run special deliveries in the event of emergency or delivery errors.

• Automobile Cleanliness

o Vehicles must be kept clean inside and out as often as weather permits. Weather should always permit.

• Personal Appearance

o Maintain a clean professional appearance, business casual.

• Develop new customer contacts and follow up on those contacts.

• Follow up on leads given by company or route drivers.

• Communicate with the Sales Manager on all suggested price quotes that do not adhere to current price lists.

• Identify our opportunities by listing all resale and food service prospects. Develop and present presentations to those accounts.

• Availability and Responsiveness

o Communication is critical with both customers and the company, the expectation is that we respond in a timely manner to questions, issues or concerns, often this will be outside traditional business hours.

• Submit weekly agenda/ sales plan to General Manager and Sales Manager team by 8:00am Monday mornings.

• Check empty milk cases to see if they are being returned to the plant.

• Attend sales meetings when called by Sales Manager.

• Deliver school bid prices and attend bid openings. Also, may be required to attend school board meetings.

• Maintain confidentiality with pricing.

• Keep production informed of any changes in customer usage that would affect setting up of production.

• Help oversee and manage our merchandising team and provide coverage in stores in their absence.

• Develop relationships with Regional and District Managers from our corporate customers to improve both sales and service.

• Keep accurate records of expenses for reimbursement, expenses should be submitted monthly.

• Submit monthly vehicle use reports by the 4th of the month.

• Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
