About this role

Job Summary

The Legal Director serves as the chief legal advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team, ensuring the company operates within the law at all times, offering counsel on legal and compliance matters, and overseeing the legal aspects of business transactions. This role is pivotal in managing legal risk and providing strategic direction in a complex, project-driven environment typical of the construction and contracting industry.

Job Responsibilities 1

Develop and implement the company’s legal strategy aligned with business goals and risk profile.

Advise the CEO and senior leadership on legal, regulatory, and governance issues.

Draft, review, and negotiate complex construction contracts including EPC, subcontracts, JV agreements, and procurement documents.

Support tendering and commercial teams in contract risk evaluation and qualification.

Manage claims, disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters, including coordination with external counsel.

Ensure compliance with local and international laws, construction regulations, and licensing requirements.

Lead the company’s corporate legal affairs including entity management, restructuring, and board governance.

Develop and maintain internal legal policies, systems, and controls to manage compliance and mitigate risk.

Build and lead a high-performing in-house legal team and manage relationships with external law firms.

Promote legal awareness across the organization through training and proactive guidance

Job Knowledge & Skills

Deep knowledge of construction law, contracts (FIDIC, NEC, etc.), corporate law, and dispute resolution.

Strong negotiation, advisory, and drafting skills with the ability to manage high-value, high-risk agreements.

Strategic mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial priorities.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role (this point to be available for all roles that have SAP access)

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
