Job Title: Golf Course Maintenance Technician

Job Status: Seasonal

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $19.00 to $20.40+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

  • Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary:

To participate in the maintenance of the golf course and surrounding areas in order to maintain healthy turf conditions and provide the best playing conditions possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of golf course equipment to include mowers, utility carts, weed eaters, sod cutters, etc.

  • Be at work on time for all scheduled shifts dressed in a golf course provided uniform.

  • General Labor- Raking, Shoveling, and cleanup of debris and trash on maintained turf and surrounding areas.

  • Daily Course Preparation - Includes hole cutting, tee placement, bunker raking, ball mark repair, closure maintenance, cart path maintenance, hazard marking, etc. Requires basic knowledge of the rules of golf.

  • Equipment Maintenance – Requires proper check out of vehicles, notifying mechanic or supervisor of any issues, keeping vehicles fueled and clean.

  • Irrigation System Maintenance - Assist irrigation foreman or other with repairs of the irrigation system, requires hand digging and clean up.

  • Guest Relations - Communicate effectively and positively with golfing guests, and all guests of the resort. Contact with the golfing public is constant.

  • Communicate as needed with the golf shop staff, outside staff and golfing public about course conditions, start times, etc.

  • Safety - Take all measures to ensure that self, other staff members, and guests work and play safely.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman, Irrigation Foreman, Assistant Superintendent or Golf Course manager.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have a valid US Driver’s license

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and walk for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to sit and operate machinery for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to follow both oral and written directions

  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

  • One or more years golf course maintenance or similar experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of the game of golf preferred
