Job Summary: The Lift Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in keeping Eldora’s mountain moving. This position leads a skilled team responsible for the safety, reliability, and performance of all lift systems. Combining technical expertise with strong leadership, the Supervisor ensures regulatory compliance, drives preventive maintenance programs, and supports a culture where safety, accountability, and teamwork come first.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support lift maintenance technicians in inspections, maintenance, and repairs of chairlifts, surface lifts, and conveyors.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs.

  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and all regulatory agency requirements.

  • Coordinate with outside contractors for inspections, upgrades, and specialized repairs.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair documentation.

  • Train and mentor technicians in safety procedures, maintenance practices, and emergency response.

  • Partner with Lift Operations and Mountain Operations teams to minimize downtime.

  • Stay current on industry standards, technology, and regulatory updates.

  • Leads by example for all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.

  • All employees are expected to support Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Support safe and reliable uphill transportation for guests and employees.

  • Assist in hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of lift maintenance staff.

  • Assist in training Lift Operations staff.

  • Participate in company-wide safety training programs and certifications (snowmobile, UTV/ATV, fall protection, heavy equipment, etc.).

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years of lift maintenance experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficiency reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Knowledge of ANSI B77 and CPTSB codes.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.

  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive, team-first attitude

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing & speaking English

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check

  • Must be at least 18 years old to operate company vehicles.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Work at heights exceeding 60 feet using fall protection equipment.

  • Work outdoors in extreme weather including sub-zero temperatures and high winds.

  • Stand or remain in stationary positions for extended periods.

  • Operate snowmobiles and off-road vehicles for extended durations.

  • Work extended shifts (10+ hours) in demanding conditions.

  • Climb ladders and work on elevated platforms.

  • May be exposed to gas fumes, loud noise, dust, dirt, and varying weather conditions

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $30+ hourly, depending on experience.

Benefits: This position is full-time hourly, year round position and includes an outstanding benefit package.
