Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II)

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) who will contribute to building and maintaining automation solutions that ensure high quality across Poshmark’s products and services. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and QA teams to design and execute automated tests for web, mobile (iOS & Android), and APIs.
You will have a direct impact on product quality by expanding automation coverage, improving test reliability, and enabling faster and more confident releases through continuous testing practices.

Responsibilities
Test Automation Development & Maintenance

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile (iOS & Android), and API platforms.

  • Contribute to existing automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Postman, and AI-assisted testing tools.

  • Ensure automation suites are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with coding and testing standards.

Product Quality & Engineering Collaboration

  • Partner closely with developers and QA engineers to understand product features and identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle.

  • Participate in design and code reviews to provide feedback on testability and quality considerations.

  • Support shift-left testing by integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines for faster feedback.

Test Execution & Defect Management

  • Execute automated and manual test cases as needed to validate features across platforms.

  • Identify, log, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and root cause analysis.

  • Help ensure stable and consistent regression test execution across releases.

Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to quality metrics such as automation coverage, defect trends, and test execution results.

  • Assist in building dashboards and reports to support data-driven quality decisions.

  • Continuously improve test scripts, tools, and processes for better efficiency and coverage.

Learning & Technical Growth

  • Actively learn and adopt new testing tools, frameworks, and AI-driven testing approaches.

  • Follow best practices in automation, coding standards, and test design patterns.

  • Share knowledge and contribute to team documentation and best practices.

6-Month Accomplishments

  • Build and stabilize automated test coverage for assigned product areas.

  • Improve reliability and execution consistency of existing automation suites.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution.

  • Identify and report quality issues early in the development cycle.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with automation tools and frameworks used by the team.

12+ Month Accomplishments

  • Independently own automation for key product modules or services.

  • Help improve framework capabilities and test execution efficiency.

  • Contribute to AI-assisted testing initiatives to increase coverage and reduce manual effort.

  • Drive measurable improvements in defect detection and regression stability.

  • Become a strong technical contributor and mentor junior SDETs.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on test automation

  • 3+ years of hands-on programming experience in languages such as Python or Java

  • Experience building automated tests for web, mobile (iOS/Android), and APIs

  • Familiarity with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Appium, WebDriver, and CI/CD systems

  • Experience with GUI, API, and integration testing

  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Unix commands, and Jenkins

  • Strong problem-solving skills with good communication and collaboration abilities

  • Ability to work independently on assigned features and automation tasks
