Planned Companies –Package Handler – Job Description

 

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 3pm to 11pm

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Pay Rate: $18.00

 

Summary

The Package Handler will be responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, and delivery of packages and mail for a high-end residential condominium community. This position plays a vital role in ensuring seamless operations and delivering excellent customer service to full-time residents. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a service-oriented attitude to maintain the quality and integrity of package management services.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive and log deliveries of packages, mail, and other deliveries for residents into the property management system.
  • Notify residents of incoming packages and facilitate the timely and accurate delivery of items.
  • Store packages securely in designated areas, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible for retrieval.
  • Deliver packages to residents’ units or assist them in picking up items from the storage area.
  • Maintain the package room or storage area in a neat, organized, and secure manner.
  • Handle special requests from residents, such as scheduling deliveries, sending out packages, or coordinating with delivery services.
  • Assist with concierge duties as needed, including answering questions and providing information to residents.
  • Maintain records and logs of all transactions related to deliveries and report any discrepancies or issues to the management team.
  • Coordinate with building staff and external delivery services to manage bulk deliveries or large items.
  • Follow security procedures to ensure that all packages are handled and delivered safely.
  • Support the concierge team in creating a welcoming and service-focused environment for residents.

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a package handling, concierge, or customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with package tracking systems and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude with a commitment to resident satisfaction.
