Role Title: Artic Driver

Salary: £30,407.78

Working Hours: 40 hours Monday - Friday nights with varying start times. Shift will start between 18:00 - 21:00

What will this role achieve?

As leaders in our industry, we provide transport solutions for the UK&I Region of pladis and work as a 3rd party distributor for key customers. It is therefore crucial that we maintain our high standards.

We are looking to employ a HGV Class 1 Driver at our MDC site making customer deliveries and collections to various customer sites in the UK.

Drivers must operate legally, safely and ensure they portray a smart image, as they are the most direct contact with our customers.

We provide drivers with smart uniforms and the right protective gear as this reflects our commitment to safety and quality. We expect our drivers to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Provide a professional, consistent and timely driving service for pladis.

  • Carry out vehicle checks before leaving the depot & if needed at third-party locations. Refuel, wash, and report any defects when returning to the site.

  • Fill out all necessary paperwork such as delivery notes, pallet notes, offload notes, and defect reports, as needed.

  • Communicate any delays, rejected orders, discrepancies to the confirmations department.

  • Follow legislation concerning drivers hours and vehicle maintenance to ensure operations conform to O licence requirements.

  • Drive with due care and follow the Highway Code, keeping yourself and others in mind. This helps avoid accidents, protects the vehicle and shows our company in a positive way.

  • Report all accidents and near misses.

  • Maintain the security of the vehicle and load at all times.

What does the recruitment process consist of?

Assessments – Workplace English assessment followed by a Driving Assessment. This could take up to two hours.

Interview – 30 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience.

If you’re an internal member of staff you may not be required to complete the assessment.
