SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Golf Shop Office staff with daily operations other golf related areas. Must be enrolled in Professional Golf Management curriculum in order to qualify for internship. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Attending a two or four year College or University with an accredited P.G.M. program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Good positive team attitude.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Assist the entire golf operations staff in performing duties relating to the daily operation of the golf shop.
  • Responsible for daily opening and closing procedures. (bank, computer, etc.)
  • Attend continuing education and cross-training programs.
  • Assist with inventory control on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in daily golf shop maintenance. (restocking, cleaning, reorganizing, etc.)
  • Maintain and upkeep general golf shop supplies.
  • Daily point of sale and scheduling tee times.
  • Meet and exceed all guest expectations.
  • Have a general knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
  • Work with member committees on member events.
  • Handle email and telephone inquiries.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment.  Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls and must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing tasks.
