About this role

Position Summary: The Foundation Laborer II is a skilled position required to operate and maintain various equipment, load and unload materials, and assist the Foreman and other skilled tradesmen while supporting the overall project.   

 

Essential Functions:

  • Set up transits
  • Move equipment down the ROW
  • Rub and patch foundations
  • Install chamfer edge and finish wet concrete
  • Direct concrete trucks to pour location
  • Operate backhoes and forklifts
  • Haul tools and materials such as rebar cages, bolt cages, casing
  • Drive concrete trucks, diggers, water trucks, cranes, and other equipment
  • Capable of receiving and following directions
  • Possess a basic knowledge of materials used in line work.
  • Understand when to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
  • Perform all other related work as required to complete the job.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a foundation laborer
  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Able to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
  • Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Willing to work overtime when requested.
  • Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel, operate objects, tools, and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

The team-member is frequently required to perform rigorous physical labor; sit; climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.); or balance; and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. Team-members frequently lift or move up to or in-excess of 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
