About this role

Technical Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced and solution-oriented Technical Architect – Mobile & Web to define, design, and implement the architecture of modern web and mobile applications. You’ll play a strategic role in leading technology decisions, frameworks, and scalable systems that power cross-platform experiences.

You will work closely with engineering leads, product managers, UX/UI teams, and DevOps to ensure performance, security, and maintainability across platforms while driving innovation and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities: Architecture & Design:

  • Design and document scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile and web application architectures.
  • Define architectural standards, best practices, and technical strategies for both platforms.
  • Lead selection and integration of front-end and back-end frameworks, libraries, and APIs.
  • Evaluate and implement mobile-first, responsive, and cross-platform design strategies.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, UX/UI, DevOps) to align technical decisions with business goals.
  • Guide and mentor development teams on architectural principles, coding practices, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct architectural reviews, code reviews, and technical audits.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex issues and system bottlenecks.

Development & Integration:

  • Lead or contribute to proof of concepts (POCs), system integrations, and performance optimization.
  • Define CI/CD strategies, code structure, and repository standards.
  • Ensure seamless integration between front-end, mobile, backend systems, and cloud infrastructure.

Security, Performance & Compliance:

  • Enforce security best practices across mobile and web apps (e.g., OWASP, SSL, secure storage).
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, frameworks, and trends in mobile/web development. 

Required Skills & Technologies: Mobile Development:

  • Expertise in native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) or cross-platform frameworks like or React Native
  • Experience with mobile SDKs, push notifications, device storage, and offline capabilities

Web Development:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Web APIs, and responsive design

Backend & APIs:

  • Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Knowledge of Node.js, .NET, Java, or Python for server-side logic
  • Database experience: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, or Firebase

DevOps & Cloud:

  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms
  • CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitrise, Fastlane)
  • Containerization tools like Docker, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

Architecture & Tools:

  • Microservices architecture, API gateways, and service orchestration
  • Experience with version control (Git), Agile methodologies, and Jira/Confluence
  • Strong documentation and architectural diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Draw.io, PlantUML

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a technical/architectural leadership role
  • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, high-performance mobile and web applications
  • Strong understanding of software architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

    Compensation, Benefits and Duration

    Minimum Compensation: USD 72,000
    Maximum Compensation: USD 252,000
    Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
    Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
    This position is available for independent contractors
