ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a seasoned Scrum Master who thrives in dynamic environment and understands the unique challenges of R&D Technology and AI projects, where innovation meets impact. In this position you will have a relevant role in shaping collaboration, driving continuous improvement, and enabling teams to deliver impactful digital products.

As part of the Strategic Initiatives and Delivery organization, the Senior Scrum Master role will play a key part in enabling transformation through Agile excellence. Embedded within programs that intersect with the R&D Creation Center and the AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE), this position supports initiatives that accelerate innovation, modernize platforms, and deliver AI-driven solutions. The Senior Scrum Master will champion adaptive delivery frameworks to foster collaboration across multidisciplinary team, support the squad to optimize value delivery, maintain consistent quality, and to drive measurable business outcomes over mere product outputs.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge in Agile methodology, applying Scrum, Kanban or hybrid and scaling methods such as Nexus and SAFe and is capable of training/coaching Product Owners, the squad and other stakeholders to adopt an agile mindset and way of working.

  • Coordinate Scrum events and facilitate when needed/applicable (eg facilitate Daily Scrums, Sprint Retrospectives) on cross-functional cross-regional teams.

  • Partner with Product Owners, to refine backlogs and clarify priorities to maximize value.

  • Understand the requirements for successful outcomes and provide leadership to help the team to solve some of the more complex challenges while fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment.

  • Continuous improvement champion, promoting retrospection, experimentation and learning and encourage evidence-based improvements and innovation.

  • Establish an environment where the squad can be as effective as possible, addressing behaviors and team dynamics, cross-team alignment, and ensuring a good relationship between the team, and related stakeholders.

  • Ability to recognize and remove impediments impacting team delivery.

  • Escalate systemic risks and dependencies appropriately.

  • Coach team on SDLC internal process and ensure compliance.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Build a culture of trust and accountability.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master, or Master’s degree with minimum 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master, working with global teams of contract or colleague resources.

  • Scrum Master certification.

  • Experience applying Scrum, Kanban or hybrid, SAFe, Nexus Agile approaches based on team needs.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence and work effectively across multiple teams.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills in a multicultural environment.

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Scrum principles, events, roles and artifacts.

  • Demonstrated success in coaching multiple agile project teams (pods) across products.

  • Experience with project management tools (e.g. JIRA) and knowledge management tools (e.g. Confluence).

  • Highly self-motivated to deliver both independently and with strong team collaboration.

  • Ability to creatively take on new challenges and work outside comfort zone.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Agile certifications are a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience in predictive project management methodology.

  • Knowledge of life science industry technology strategies and trends.

  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Experience working in AI projects is a strong plus.
