We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Product Safety & Regulatory Intern to join our team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in product safety, regulatory affairs, and compliance. You will work closely with business units and cross-functional teams to ensure products meet the required safety standards and regulatory guidelines across different markets in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Research & Analysis
Conduct research on regulatory requirements and industry standards, including international and local regulations (e.g., CLASS, FDA, REACH, GHS, etc.), and provide summaries to the team.
Compliance Documentation Support
Assist in the creation, organization, and maintenance of safety documentation, certifications, and product compliance files. This includes, but not limited to, labeling, safety data sheets (SDS), and regulatory submission forms.
Product Risk Assessments
Support the team in evaluating product risks and hazards by reviewing technical documentation, safety reports, and product testing results.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with product stewards and product development teams to ensure that all products meet safety and regulatory standards from design to market.
Stay Current on Industry Trends
Monitor and stay updated on changes in product safety regulations, industry trends, and emerging compliance requirements.
Project Coordination
Help manage and track project timelines to ensure compliance milestones are met and all necessary documentation is submitted on time.
Digitalisation for Tracking and Reporting
Assist in tracking and reporting of product compliance data, via digitised tools (e.g., Power BI).
Qualifications
Educational Background:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
Coursework or prior experience in product safety, regulatory compliance, quality control, or related disciplines is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Research Skills: Strong ability to conduct independent research on regulatory guidelines and standards and summarize complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing and organizing regulatory documents and compliance materials.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with regulatory software or document management systems is a plus.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment and contribute to cross-functional projects.
Eagerness to Learn: A proactive attitude and willingness to learn about product safety, regulatory frameworks, and the compliance process.
