About the team & role
The team consists of allied health assistants, nursing, nuclear medicine technologists, pathology collectors and nuclear medicine physicians. We are a growing service performing nearly 10000 PET scans and 850 therapy treatments each year to inpatients and outpatients.
We are currently seeking a dynamic Allied Health Assistant to join our imaging team to provide casual backfill during leave periods. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our team, working collaboratively to provide operational support to the Nuclear Medicine Technologists in the Cancer Imaging Department. The allied health assistant will be expected to work closely with the technologists and pathology collectors to provide assistance and direct care for patients having imaging and treatment. care, quality control, infection control and some clerical components of providing imaging to patients.
About you
You will have a good level of interpersonal and conflict management skills and a proven ability to relate effectively with staff, patients and the general public. Experience working within an acute hospital setting will be an advantage.
You'll bring with you:
- Allied Health Assistant Certificate III or IV (or equivalent)
- First aid and basic life support (CPR)
- Driver’s Licence (valid in Victoria)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
