Job Description & Responsibilities
Persistent Systems is looking for a Logistics Associate. You will be responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments at Persistent Systems’ New York City headquarters.
Position Responsibilities
- Shipping and receiving all packages, including accepting and signing for deliveries from distributors, as well as organizing and planning outbound orders within our ERP system.
- Maintaining warehouse inventory and organization, including sorting materials according to characteristics such as size, type, style, and product code under FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures; conducting daily inventory of products, conducting cycle counts, and reporting data to the Logistics Lead and or Inventory Analyst.
- Promptly receiving in deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables within the 24-hour window
- Maintains accurate reporting of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately
- Picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders loading the contents to each package that is shipped through the ERP system
- Monitoring warehouse jobs related to customer orders – kitting product from production
- Maintaining inventory of shipping supplies and replenishing inventory as needed
- Documenting and maintaining shipping and receiving logs
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with packaging and shipping product and other valuable goods
- Experience in a warehouse/storeroom, with knowledge of warehouse functions
- General knowledge of legal and safety procedures for handling of goods
- Literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with information management systems: ERP/MRP
- Knowledge of shipping integrated systems such as UPS, FedEx, DHL - Domestics and International
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices and procedures
The base pay for this role will be $24.50 an hour. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
