Job Description

We are seeking an Automation Technician to join our team supporting advanced robotic and automated laboratory systems at a customer R&D site. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a vital part in maximising system uptime, solving complex technical challenges, and ensuring scientists can focus on what they do best—innovation.

This is located at our customer site in Molndal.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering responsive, customer-focused engineering support for a wide range of automated and robotic laboratory systems
  • Supporting Automation Engineers with fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of complex equipment
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with engineering standards, SOPs, and EHS requirements
  • Helping to identify, source, and manage critical spare parts and services
  • Creating and maintaining key documentation such as service reports, SOPs, and risk assessments
  • Using KPIs and performance data to support continuous improvement of system reliability and service delivery
  • Working closely with internal teams, external vendors, and customer stakeholders to deliver a first-class service experience
  • Developing your technical knowledge through vendor and in-house training, keeping pace with evolving automation technologies

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a technically capable, customer-focused professional who enjoys working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Experience supporting laboratory instruments and/or automated systems
  • Logical, analytical problem-solver with a structured approach
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced operational environments
  • High standards of safety awareness and EHS compliance
  • A proactive, service-driven mindset with excellent attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary vocational qualification (Yrkeshögskoleexamen) in a relevant engineering discipline OR
  • University-level engineering studies (e.g. högskoleingenjör) in a relevant field OR
  • 5+ years of experience within laboratory instrument support, automation, or a related technical field

Additional Requirements:

  • Confident PC user (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Working Environment

  • Site-based role within a controlled laboratory environment
  • Use of PPE such as lab coat, safety glasses, and respiratory protection where required
  • Physically active role involving movement between labs and regular interaction with equipment and instruments
  • Medical clearance and safety training may be required
