Job Description

Job duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Apply insulating materials and surface claddings and coating to pipes, vessels, tanks, ductwork and associated equipment
  • Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic
  • Determine the amount, types and method of insulation needed
  • Fit and shape insulating materials
  • Measure and cut insulation using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors
  • Use tools to install insulation such as pin snips, cutting shears, knives, channel locks, etc.
  • Read blueprints and specifics to determine job specifications
  • Prepare surfaces for insulation application
  • Load and unload materials
  • Stage materials in proper site areas
  • Observe and comply with all safety process and procedures
  • On-the-job training offered

This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
