Job Description
Job duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Apply insulating materials and surface claddings and coating to pipes, vessels, tanks, ductwork and associated equipment
- Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic
- Determine the amount, types and method of insulation needed
- Fit and shape insulating materials
- Measure and cut insulation using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors
- Use tools to install insulation such as pin snips, cutting shears, knives, channel locks, etc.
- Read blueprints and specifics to determine job specifications
- Prepare surfaces for insulation application
- Load and unload materials
- Stage materials in proper site areas
- Observe and comply with all safety process and procedures
- On-the-job training offered
This position is safety-sensitive.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to perform basic math
- Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
- Physically able to perform assigned tasks
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
