As a foundational hire, you will design and implement the infrastructure that powers the Peregrine platform.</p> <p>As an engineering team, we believe empathy leads to better solutions. Engineers will have the opportunity to work closely with our team onsite to understand the diverse use cases Peregrine serves. We value strong ownership while fostering collaboration and continuous feedback.</p> <p>As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will leverage a variety of technologies to scale our platform, enabling secure connections to customer networks while managing terabytes of data. You will tackle a wide range of complex challenges, including:</p> <ul> <li>Building highly available and secure production systems</li> <li>Architecting scalable and secure network topologies</li> <li>Supporting the ingest engine for massive data processing</li> <li>Accelerating the entire engineering lifecycle</li> </ul> <p>Our stack is constantly evolving but is built on AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Pulumi, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Elasticsearch, and more.</p> <h3><strong>About you</strong></h3> <ul> <li>8+ years of experience building and maintaining complex infrastructure for web applications with strict uptime requirements</li> <li>Deep understanding of architecture and scaling for large-scale software systems</li> <li>Proven experience in building cloud-based network systems across diverse customer environments</li> <li>Extensive expertise in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)</li> <li>Track record of successfully developing highly available and secure network systems for both production and customer environments</li> <li>Strong knowledge of platform, network, and data security, with experience in compliance controls and accreditations</li> <li>Solid foundation in database operations, with a strong preference for experience in PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What we look for</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Expertise in modern software development best practices, including deployments, CI/CD, data management, security, and distributed systems</li> <li>Extensive experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes</li> <li>Proficiency in software engineering, particularly in Python, for developing APIs and automation tools.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi</li> <li>Strong background in Linux system administration, with proficiency in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages for automation</li> <li>Deep understanding of CI/CD tools, including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and ArgoCD</li> <li>Located in Washington, D.C. and open to working in office</li> </ul> <p><em>Salary Range: $170,000 - $250,000 Annually + Benefits + Equity (if applicable) + Bonus (if applicable)</em></p> <p><em>Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, certifications or licenses, and specific work location.
