JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Lehigh Valley is seeking a Professional Tutor to support students enrolled in chemistry courses starting Spring 2026. The professional tutor will facilitate one-on-one and small group tutoring appointments. In addition to content instruction, the professional tutor will integrate effective study and learning strategies into tutoring sessions with the ultimate goal of assisting students in becoming successful and independent learners. There may be other duties as assigned.
This is a part-time position, for approximately 10 hours per week during the academic year. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Prior tutoring or teaching experience is strongly preferred.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
