POSITION SPECIFICS
The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI) is seeking a candidate for an Event Planning Assistant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Assist with planning meetings to determine on-site and virtual meeting/event objectives and requirements
Research venues and services conforming to customer requirements; make reservations as directed
Coordinate attendee invitations; arrange accommodations, transportation, tours, catering, and event security
Coordinate availability of signage, displays, printing, audio-visual equipment and other technology, and any special needs requirements
Execute pre-event checklists; address or elevate issues of concern
Process post-event surveys and evaluations; provide improvement area recommendations
Maintain EESI's commitment to environmental management and sustainability, as it relates events, via recycling, conservation, and waste management
Maintain contracts, agreements, and other records; create summaries and status reports
Provide general administrative support
Assist with content needs for the institute's public-facing website, ensuring each page maintains a consistent visual identity and meets University brand guidelines, by coordinating with college partners and making necessary content updates, contributing input for designing new pages, and reviewing site analytics to recommend improvements and strategy
Assist with the institute’s social media platforms, including creating and moderating content, engaging audiences, responding to inquiries, and maintaining and sharing a content calendar and event announcements
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None
While this position offers hybrid flexibility, the nature of the work requires in-person support for events. Most events occur on-campus during regular working hours, but they may occasionally be scheduled during evenings, on weekends, or at off-campus locations. Detailed questions regarding work hours may be directed to the hiring manager.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
