POSITION SPECIFICS
The Smeal College of Business seeks experienced Academic Adviser to work in a fast-paced, high-energy academic environment. Extensive knowledge of university policy and procedures that apply to the matriculation and the academic, personal, and professional development of undergraduate students is required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing academic advising to undergraduate students.
Interpreting University policies, procedures, and curriculum to students and faculty in the College.
Guiding students in course selection and scheduling.
Resolving academic problems and escalating matters, as needed.
Monitoring degree progress.
Assessing student needs and making professional referrals.
Serving as a member of the Smeal Ethical Leadership Development Challenge team to provide ongoing programming support for the 2,500+ student participants through regular activity submission reviews, activity development, and collaborative team planning.
Contributing to advising committees and/or working groups related to areas that may include student success, assessment and evaluation, academic policies, and/or staff development.
Participating in various college programs, such as New Student Orientation, Accepted Student Events, Spend A Summer Day, and other programs as assigned.
Additionally, other duties include interaction with students, parents, faculty, and various college staff members, and may require occasional weekend and evening hours.
The successful candidate will have:
A strong background in academic advising with a proven track record and commitment to serving student populations with varied life experiences and educational needs.
Experience with data collection and assessment are preferred.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Master's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
