Job Title: Team Manager, Product Management

Description: In this role you will lead the country's most successful maths team of high-performing product professionals, responsible for the most used maths qualifications and teaching and learning resources in the UK that are also used extensively around the world. Maths provision and manage a high-performing team of subject specialists. The role aligns to industry-level titles such as Head of Maths / Team Manager – Maths. 

This is a pivotal leadership role, combining strategic oversight of Maths qualifications and teaching and learning products with day-to-day line management, coaching and development of staff. You will play a central role in shaping the direction of Maths at Pearson and in UK schools and colleges.

Job Summary: Lead the vision, strategy, and continuous improvement of Maths provision for UK schools and colleges. Drive the development of best-in-class Maths products that engage learners and meet regulatory requirements. Use data-driven insights to elevate product quality, learner outcomes, and overall experience, making a real impact on education across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the vision and strategic direction for Maths products, ensuring alignment with educational frameworks and regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analysing performance data and learner feedback to inform product enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging, high-quality Maths solutions for schools and colleges.
  • Guide and develop a team of product managers and specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Ensure Maths products remain competitive and relevant by monitoring industry trends and stakeholder needs.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial outlook.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to drive product development and continuous improvement, ideally in the schools and colleges sector.
  • Deep knowledge of the qualifications and publishing sectors for schools.
Qualifications (Education & Experience):
  • Significant experience in product management, ideally within education or assessment.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and delivering complex products.
  • Deep understanding of UK educational frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using data to inform product strategy and improvements.
