Job Title: Product Manager, Qualifications platforms 

Department/Division: Pearson Qualifications  

Reports to: Product Director, Qualifications Platforms 

 

  • We are recruiting three Product Managers aligned to distinct focus areas within the Qualifications Platforms portfolio:
  •  
  1. Product Data Management: Working in Pearson Qualifications’ transformation programme, the Product Manager will be responsible for the development of the data products and services that support the design, development and delivery of Pearson Qualifications. These include (but are not limited to) the Qualification Eligibility & Grading Algorithms, Metadata Management & Governance, Regulatory frameworks and Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSB) Ontologies. They will also be responsible for the successful migration/development of existing data structures into the new frameworks and models and will work closely with Qualifications Product teams, other Pearson teams and external customers & sector bodies to deliver a best in class customer experience and a continuous improvement culture that iterates and improves our data products & services in alignment with our Qualifications portfolio strategy & roadmap.
  2. Assessment Services: Working in Pearson Qualifications’ transformation programme, the Product Manager will be responsible for the development of products & services supporting Pearson Qualifications Non Examined Assessment (NEA) quality assurance models. These products will support UK and international customers & learners, Pearson assessment teams and Pearson associates and integration with AI capabilities and LLMs is essential to support the quality assurance workforce and to support our continuous improvement initiatives.
  3. T-Levels: Working in Pearson Qualifications’ transformation programme, the Product Manager will be responsible for the ongoing development of products & services supporting the delivery of T-level contracts, in particular those that support the delivery and processing of T-level assessment, quality assurance and results. While the initial focus of the role is on T-level delivery, the products and services will over time be developed to support the delivery of other qualifications e.g. BTECs, V Levels and academic qualifications

 

Role Purpose/Summary  

As an expert Product Manager working on a high impact transformation programme, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering innovative product experiences that support Pearson’s qualifications business. You will develop and communicate a compelling product vision aligned with business strategy, customer needs, and available budget. You will lead the design of agentic AI-powered solutions, collaborating across Qualifications and broader Pearson teams to ensure products deliver seamless, impactful experiences for customers, learners, and internal staff 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and articulate the product vision, ensuring alignment with Pearson’s strategic goals, customer requirements, and financial constraints. 

  • Design agentic AI product experiences, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams within Qualifications and across Pearson to drive innovation and excellence. 

  • Partner with product management and technology teams to deliver products that provide a seamless experience for all user groups, including customers, learners, and internal staff. 

  • Champion the voice of the customer and learner in all product decisions, leveraging data and insights to inform product strategy and prioritization. 

  • Ensure product initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance. 

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the product team and across stakeholder groups. 

 

Required Experience and Qualifications 

  • Proven experience in product management, ideally within the qualifications, education, or assessment domain. 

  • Demonstrated success in developing and delivering AI-powered or agentic product experiences. 

  • Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

  • Experience working with technology teams to deliver scalable, user-centric solutions. 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Achievement of product delivery milestones and launch dates. 

  • Customer satisfaction scores (e.g., NPS, CSAT) for the Qualifications Platform. 

  • Adoption and engagement rates for new product features and AI-driven experiences. 

  • Budget adherence and cost management for product initiatives. 

  • Number and impact of cross-team collaborations and innovations delivered. 

  • Quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, support tickets) post-launch. 

  • Measurable improvements in user and staff experience.
