Responsibilities
Make Your Mark: What You'll Tackle as Our Marketing Communication Intern
- Write, edit, and proofread clear, concise business communications for diverse audiences.
- Support the creation and execution of internal and external communication and marketing plans.
- Develop and post content for social media, marketing materials, and web platforms, ensuring brand consistency.
- Assist in planning and organizing special events and district marketing initiatives, overseeing logistics and communication tactics.
- Apply PCL’s branding guidelines (language and visual elements) to all communications and marketing deliverables.
- Consult with internal stakeholders to provide communications guidance, collaborating to craft impactful messaging and campaigns.
- Work with creative professionals to develop compelling visual and written content for both communications and marketing purposes.
- Conduct industry research and identify opportunities to position PCL as a thought leader—whether through media, public speaking, or proposal contributions.
- Organize and manage digital content, marketing assets, and project records, supporting the broader marketing strategy.
Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a postsecondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent grammar.
- Proficient editing and proofreading abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
- A strong curiosity and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Team player extroidinaire with a demonstrated ability to work well with others.
- Working knowledge of brand management, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with InDesign and Photoshop is a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage conflicting deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and organize information effectively.
- Proven critical thinking and sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
The estimated wage range for this role is $20 - $24 per hour, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
