We are seeking a Human Resources Student for our Edmonton Industrial district, within our Heavy Industrial Division that is available for 4-8 months starting in May 2026. This position will be under the direct supervisor of the HRPD Manager. The Heavy Industrial HRPD team is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of numerous Human Resource initiatives for PCL’s heavy industrial sector.

 

As a Human Resources Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

  • Assists the team and delivers high-quality programs in the areas of talent acquisition strategies, career management and employee engagement.
  • Supports the team through preparation for daily events and follow-up actions (e.g., scheduling and coordinating meetings, maintaining action lists and reminders, and meeting preparation).
  • Manages career-related inquiries through e-mail.
  • Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports and other documents.
  • Involved in other HR and project management tasks as required.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources Major.
  • Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and is independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and grammatical skills.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
