About the Role
We’re hiring a Junior Category / Vendor Manager to own one of the most critical functions at Partao: Find My Part.
This role sits at the frontline of our marketplace. Every day, you’ll help source parts that customers can’t find anywhere else — either because they’re highly specific, backordered, or not yet available through our existing suppliers.
This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role designed for someone early in their commercial or procurement career who wants to learn fast, take ownership, and grow into a full category role over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Find My Part pipeline: hard to find customer-requested parts either from our verified vendors or by sourcing new vendors.
- Compare supplier offers across price, lead time, and reliability to make smart sourcing decisions.
- Build and manage a growing portfolio of suppliers within your scope.
- Work closely with Customer Service to keep customers informed and unblock issues quickly.
- Maintain clean, accurate supplier and order data.
- Continuously improve how we source, validate, and fulfill hard-to-find parts.
- Support supplier onboarding and keep supplier databases updated.
Requirements
- 1–2 years experience in procurement, sourcing, category support, or a commercial operations role.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
- Strong problem-solving mindset — you enjoy figuring things out when the answer isn’t obvious.
- Commercial curiosity — you care about pricing, lead times, and supplier trade-offs.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and basic data analysis.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple requests in parallel.
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken). Added advantage if you speak a European language.
- Hungry to learn and grow in a fast-paced startup environment.
Bonus Points
- Experience supporting or working in procurement, sourcing, or category operations.
- Exposure to marketplaces, e-commerce, or B2B platforms.
- Curiosity or background in mechanical, industrial, or technical products.
- Comfort speaking with suppliers and asking the “awkward” commercial questions.
- Ability to spot patterns in repeat requests and turn one-off sourcing into reusable supply.
- A natural bias for action — you’d rather try, learn, and iterate than wait for perfect instructions.
- Ambition to grow into a full Category / Vendor Manager role over time.
