Position Summary

The Senior Technology Trainer functions as a Business Analyst with advanced training and coaching expertise, responsible for helping attorneys and business professionals maximize technology to enhance client service and improve efficiency. Combining workflow optimization with personalized instruction, this role bridges business needs and technology solutions. The Specialist partners closely with practice groups and departments to introduce new tools, accelerate adoption of AI technologies, and foster a culture of confident, effective technology use.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal teams, and departments to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies and opportunities for enhancement, and recommend technology-enabled solutions.
  • Provide training and coaching to users on firm technologies, including Microsoft 365, Litera, BigHand, Microsoft Copilot, CoCounsel, Westlaw Precision, and other legal applications.
  • Create, edit and deliver live, recorded, and self-service training materials, such as quick user guides, tutorials, tip sheets, and videos.
  • Facilitate the adoption of automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching and group sessions tailored to specific practice and department needs.
  • Host technology “clinics” to answer questions and encourage best practices.
  • Track and report measurable outcomes (time savings, adoption rates, efficiency improvements).
  • Stay current on emerging AI, automation, and collaboration tools and recommend firm-wide applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of experience in IT training, business analysis, or digital adoption and a bachelor’s degree in information technology, education, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and job experience.
  • Law firm experience is required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms, and AI tools.
  • Familiarity with legal technology software preferred, e.g. Westlaw, Co-Counsel, and Litera, or comparable systems.
  • Demonstrated instructional design and strong training delivery skills both virtual and in-person.
  • Excellent communication and coaching abilities, with the capacity to engage both individuals and groups effectively including users with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Proven ability to connect with a wide variety of users in one-on-one and group settings, creating a comfortable environment that encourages adoption and learning.
  • Proven analytical mindset with ability to measure ROI of training/adoption programs
  • Creative problem-solver and self-starter with initiative and passion for efficiency and innovation.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate within and across teams. Strong organization and project management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and client-service orientation.
  • Flexible to work periodic evenings, weekends and overtime as needed and travel occasionally.
