Responsible for import and export management which includes developing procedures, stablishing communication with internal and external parties regarding project updates and issue resolutions. Support operational execution of import/export tasks by reviewing project needs and translating them in executable import/export tasks.

Develops import/export strategies for low to medium complexity projects in collaboration with Global Trade Compliance Leader and/or cross functional teams and in compliance with international trade regulations to achieve project objectives. Prepares actionable plans and ensures all stakeholders are informed and able to execute on established strategies. Serves as a subject matter expert for all trade activities and compliance.

Key Accountabilities:

Trade Compliance

  • Ensure import/export activities are conducted in compliance with customs and government agencies regulations.
  • Maintain positive relationship with customs and other government agencies, to learn and gather new requirements and regulations in advance for implement and for issue resolution.
  • Ensure all documents follow the record keeping process in compliance with Parexel’s and local regulations.
  • Support with design and implementation of GTC operational and compliance procedures.

  • Evaluate project objectives, products and countries involved and develop import/export strategies for low to medium complexity projects that meet local and international trade regulations

Project Execution

  • Provide an efficient interface with customs brokers and ensure import and export clearance are performed efficiently and in compliance.
  • Prepare and/or submit import and export license application which is aligned with project needs
  • Attend project meetings to provide import/export updates and support resolution of any import/export issues and possess the ability to determine when to elevate to management for resolution.
  • Track import/export licenses for quantity and expiry date. Inform and/or prepare and/or submit import/export license application.

  • Liaise with other departments to establish and maintain effective and relevant import/export activities and support project’s goals.
  • Oversees all import/export activities related to the project to ensure compliance with laws and regulations in each region.
  • Continuously inform in advance any import/export restrictions, updates and determine actionable steps which should be taken by the project team.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of supply chain, international trade in healthcare or other industry.
  • Adequate knowledge of customs and/or clinical development.
  • Adequate experience in communication with customs brokers and other third-party logistic providers.
  • Experience in working with global virtual teams and collaborative environment.
  • Solid experience in working with global virtual teams and collaborative environment.
  • Initial experience in risk assessment and process improvement methods to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Solid English skills.
  • Experience with development of project plans/strategy and actionable deliverables.
  • Initial experience with participating in regulatory and/or client audits.

  • Possess strong working knowledge of customs and/or clinical trial regulations and ability to apply technical knowledge to complex global business transactions.
  • Adequate experience with regulatory framework in one or more regions of the globe, and the ability to understand and work within a multitude of government regulatory schemes and agencies.
  • Initial experience with participating in regulatory and/or client audits.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or master's Degree, or equivalent (e.g. Pharm. D.), in biology, pharmacy, or other health-related discipline, international trade or logistics business.
