<h2><strong>Mobile / Bench Engineer – Multiskilled (M&E)</strong></h2><p><strong>Salary:</strong> Up to <strong>£45,000</strong> (depending on experience)<br><strong>Hours:</strong> Monday–Friday, <strong>08:00–17:00</strong> (flexible)<br>Alternative shifts may include <strong>07:00–16:00</strong> or <strong>10:00–19:00</strong> on occasion<br><strong>Location:</strong> Central London – sites ranging from <strong>Liverpool Street to Marble Arch</strong><br><strong>Reporting to:</strong> Technical Services Manager<br><strong>Liaison with:</strong> Regional Manager</p><hr><h3><strong>The Role</strong></h3><p>We are looking for a <strong>Multiskilled Mobile / Bench Engineer</strong> to support the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of central London sites.</p><p>This role is hands-on and varied, covering mechanical and electrical maintenance within a building services environment. You’ll work closely with Supervisors, Contract Managers, and the wider engineering team to ensure client assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and in full working order.</p><hr><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><h4><strong>Maintenance & Operations</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems</p></li><li><p>Maintain plant, equipment, and associated components to a high standard</p></li><li><p>Respond to plant failures, faults, and BMS alarms, using systems for first-line diagnostics</p></li><li><p>Maintain comfortable environmental conditions through effective operation of HVAC plant</p></li><li><p>Undertake fault finding, minor repairs, and small installation works as directed</p></li></ul><h4><strong>Health, Safety & Compliance</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Maintain a safe and healthy working environment at all times</p></li><li><p>Complete SimPRO instruction sets fully, including photographic evidence where required</p></li><li><p>Ensure logbooks and compliance records for electrical, mechanical, and water systems are accurate and up to date</p></li><li><p>Identify and escalate hazards, statutory maintenance issues, or risks to plant reliability</p></li><li><p>Isolate and make safe electrical or pressure systems where required</p></li></ul><h4><strong>Site & Team Working</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Monitor subcontractors during specialist service visits or repair works</p></li><li><p>Carry out regular housekeeping walk-rounds of plant rooms and client areas</p></li><li><p>Liaise professionally and courteously with clients and end users</p></li><li><p>Communicate maintenance activity and potential impact to stakeholders in advance</p></li><li><p>Support colleagues and share knowledge to ensure safe and continuous site operations</p></li></ul><h4><strong>Documentation & Communication</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Maintain accurate records including test reports and service reports</p></li><li><p>Keep Business Support informed of work progress</p></li><li><p>Escalate issues promptly to the Supervisor, Contract Manager, or Account Manager</p></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Working Pattern</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Monday to Friday core hours with flexibility depending on site requirements</p></li><li><p>Overtime may be required evenings, weekends, or public holidays (not guaranteed)</p></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></h3><h4><strong>Essential</strong></h4><ul><li><p>City & Guilds Level II / III (or equivalent) in <strong>Electrical or Mechanical discipline</strong></p></li><li><p>Strong Building Services / M&E background</p></li><li><p>Previous experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding</p></li><li><p>Good understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations and safe working practices</p></li><li><p>Experience working with plant such as boilers, ventilation systems, pumps, generators, switchgear, lighting, and small power</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</p></li></ul><h4><strong>Desirable</strong></h4><ul><li><p>18th Edition I.E.E (role dependent)</p></li><li><p>City & Guilds BS 2391 Level 3 – Inspection & Testing</p></li><li><p>IOSH Working Safely</p></li><li><p>PASMA and IPAF (1b / 3a / 3b)</p></li><li><p>Unvented hot water systems training</p></li><li><p>Experience with BMS, generators, controls, ACOP L8, cooling towers, pressurisation and ventilation systems</p></li><li><p>High Voltage experience (electrical roles only)</p></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Personal Attributes</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Well organised with the ability to work to timescales</p></li><li><p>Calm and effective in high-pressure or business-critical environments</p></li><li><p>Flexible, reliable, and proactive</p></li><li><p>Strong team player with a professional and courteous manner</p></li></ul>
