About this role

#WeAreParamount on a mission to unleash the power of content… you in?
We’ve got the brands, we’ve got the stars, we’ve got the power to achieve our mission to entertain the planet – now all we’re missing is… YOU! Becoming a part of Paramount means joining a team of passionate people who not only recognize the power of content but also enjoy a touch of fun and uniqueness. Together, we co-create moments that matter – both for our audiences and our employees – and aim to leave a positive mark on culture.

Are you an investigative journalist who can both dig and deliver—from sourcing and records to scripts, visuals, and on air performance? We’re building a next-generation newsroom in Atlanta and seeking an Investigative Reporter (MSJ) who will originate enterprise investigations, elevate breaking news with investigative angles, and collaborate with teams across CBS News & Stations to serve audiences on TV, streaming, web, and social.

Responsibilities
•    Own investigations end-to-end: pitch, research, report, write, shoot, and edit impactful investigative stories across platforms.
•    Break and advance news: quickly develop investigative angles that add exclusive context and accountability to urgent/breaking coverage.
•    Source relentlessly: build relationships; land key interviews; navigate public records/FOIA and courts; secure documents, data, and tips.
•    Analyze and visualize data: obtain datasets; analyze and summarize findings; partner with designers to create graphics and interactives that make complex information clear. Present in our fully virtual studio environment.
•    Tell memorable stories: deliver character-driven investigations with crisp, conversational writing and a strong on-air presence; execute high-quality visuals, sound, and live shots.
•    Set the bar for rigor: partner with management, journalists, and legal counsel to ensure content is accurate, well-documented, and bulletproof.
•    Represent the brand: communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and the public; uphold CBS standards on air, online, and on social.

Qualifications
•    8+ years as an investigative reporter or producer in a medium to large market, with a portfolio that shows accountability, measurable community impact, and audience value.
•    Outstanding writing, reporting, and organizational skills with impeccable grammar and attention to detail.
•    Demonstrated mastery of investigative tactics: sourcing, verification, interviewing, document/data acquisition, and public records navigation.
•    Comfortable producing for multiple platforms (TV, streaming, web, social) and collaborating on visuals, graphics, and interactives.
•    A track record in character-driven storytelling and live reporting that leads newscasts.
•    Video editing proficiency and MSJ experience (shoot/write/edit) for field execution.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field.
•    Extensive knowledge of the Atlanta market, including issues that matter most to the community
•    Must be willing to work an unpredictable schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays) as assigned and as news dictates.
•    Primarily on-site/field-based in the Atlanta area, collaborating closely with the local newsroom.
