The Financial Analyst supports the Finance Department and serves as a key business partner to the Operations team. This role provides timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights, including monthly financial reporting, performance metrics, profitability analysis, and web-based dashboards. The Financial Analyst also performs ad hoc analyses and assists in the preparation, monitoring, and updating of company forecasts and budgets.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
The primary job duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Budgeting/Forecasting
- Perform monthly variance analysis of store expenses versus budget; identify drivers of variances and prepare clear, concise explanations.
- Review and update sales and expense forecasts for stores based on current trends and performance.
- Assist in the preparation and ongoing maintenance of the annual operating budget.
Profitability Analysis
- Investigate and respond to questions related to period-end financial results from Office Administrators, General Managers, and Senior Leadership, including sales, cost of sales, labor, and operating expenses.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to Senior Leadership and General Managers to support decision-making.
- Conduct concept-level and store-level profitability analyses to identify key drivers, trends, and areas requiring deeper review.
- Analyze menu mix and item-level profitability.
- Develop new reports, tools, and dashboards to improve financial visibility and operational performance.
Ad Hoc Projects
- Prepare ad hoc analysis for restaurant operations and management in order to analyze impact of potential decisions.
- Work with the Marketing Department to track and analyze the success of current promotions and marketing initiatives (impact on sales, traffic, guest spend, and profitability).
- Work to identify areas of improvement.
- Assist with implementation and integration of new process and software products as well as assist in the ongoing utilization and design of existing software/databases to maximize utility in reporting.
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in any field of study
- 1-3 years of experience working in corporate finance, preferably in hospitality
- Positive and professional attitude
- Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills
- Excel at problem solving
- Collaborative and works well in a team environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel, SQL, TM1 and other OLAP applications
- Experience with reporting and dash boarding software such as DOMO, Tableau, Mirus or Microstrategy
