Purpose

The Account Director is a proactive business partner who drives strategic outcomes for assigned, complex pharmacy manufacturer programs through data-driven insights, collaboration, and operational excellence. This role is pivotal in driving business forward, skillfully influencing senior stakeholders through data-driven insights to uphold excellence in client relationships  and program execution. The Account Director owns advanced business objectives and partners cross-functionally to align and deliver on shared goals, drive program growth and efficiencies, and support long-term success.  This role requires occasional travel to PANTHER headquarters or manufacturer sites for in-person meetings and events.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the proactive, primary point of contact for assigned complex manufacturer partner delivering timely, strategic, and value-focused communication.
  • Responds to inquiries with promptness, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborates across internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on program objectives and deliverables.
  • Delivers measurable value to clients through performance outcomes, innovation, and partnership optimization.
  • Displays value that PANTHERx brings to patients through use of advanced analytics.
  • Drives critical program insights and recommendations with comprehensive business metrics.
  • Translates data into strategic insights related to drug utilization, patient engagement, and payer performance.
  • Leads the preparation and delivery of quarterly business reviews (QBRs) using actionable analytics and strategic insights.
  • Observes and reports on program KPIs, SLAs, and other contractual metrics.
  • Ensures adherence to contractual obligations while driving enhanced performance through internal collaboration and business process improvements.
  • Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of operational processes and data mapping to ensure precise data transmission to partners, proactively identifying and resolving any discrepancies. 
  • Owns end-to-end program execution and business outcomes, including identifying and resolving issues, partner engagement, and performance tracking.
  • Leads the implementation and execution of advanced manufacturer programs.
  • Supports product launches, staff training, and critical business initiatives in partnership with manufacturer stakeholders.
  • Monitors and analyzes trends in program performance (e.g., conversion, adherence, persistence) to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Executes program health checks at cadence agreed upon with partner, reports findings, works with key stakeholders on any actionable items, and displays positive findings.
  • Streamlines communication between internal product inventory team and manufacturer supply chain to meet the flux of the industry, avoids disruption to patient care, and maintains cost and efficiencies for both parties.
  • Owns ancillary business relationships specific to program (e.g. buy and bill, wholesale, In Office Dispense Networks, etc.)
  • Clearly conveys expectations, provides constructive feedback, and facilitates open, two-way communication within the teams to drive collaboration and performance.
  • Provides leadership support to the operations team as assigned, including performance tracking and reviews and delivers continuous feedback.
  • Attends in-person meetings and events at PANTHER headquarters or manufacturer locations as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Science, Business, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in healthcare, pharma, client services, or strategic program management.
  • Demonstrated experience using data analytics and insights to drive business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Executive presence, with proven ability to influence senior and C-suite stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to drive success in complex, high-value client programs through data insight and operational leadership.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree (e.g. PharmD, Ph.D., MBA, etc.) in Health Science, Business, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Experience in enterprise account management with pharma/healthcare client leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturers or specialty pharmacy operations.
  • Proficiency in advanced reporting/BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Experience in process improvement (Lean Six Sigma, etc.).
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Knowledge of commercial drug launch strategy, specialty pharmacy, market access, PBM relations, or healthcare data.

Work Environment

This job functions in a professional home or office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as reading or working with various forms of data for extended periods.
