Responsibilities

Position Summary:  PECNA is looking to fill the position of Facilities Operations Tech - Level 4. As a key member of the facilities operations team, you will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and enhance critical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Essential Duties:

Functional Operations

  • Perform rounds, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems with moderate supervision
  • Act as First Responder for operational issues in manufacturing areas
  • Assess and correct utility outages
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment within the functional area
  • Work all scheduled shift hours

Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate equipment records, work orders, and CMMS documentation
  • Draft, approve, and follow Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Training & Team Support

  • Maintain intermediate skills for electrical and mechanical systems as defined at Level 3
  • Demonstrate moderate skill across multiple technical trades, with preference for HVAC journeyman or mechanic experience
  • Train team members at the same or lower level

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate across teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and tenants to ensure compliance with PENA work rules
  • Interface regularly with Engineering, Construction, and PECNA tenant teams

Quality, Safety, & Compliance

  • Follow all safety and company policies, regulations, and 6S cleanliness standards
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry, regulatory, and customer requirements
  • Demonstrate proficiency with measurement tools, Microsoft Office Suite, blueprint reading, and interpretation of technical documentation

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Pre-employment respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education

  • Required: High school diploma, GED or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
  • Preferred:  Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2 years of trade school or equivalent

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge and work experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC in an industrial manufacturing facility environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team
  • Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical
  • Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering or construction management
  • Experience utilizing a scheduling software

Preferred License(s):

  • PIT License
  • MEWP
  • State Issued Driver’s License

Preferred Certification(s):

  • CPR Certification
  • QET Certification NFPA70E and or NFPA70B
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • HAZWOPER 8 or 40
