About this role

Resumen

Ensure the timely availability of direct and indirect materials by accurately executing material requirements planning (MRP). Support uninterrupted production flow, maintain inventory control, and comply with quality, safety, and ISO 9001/14001 standards related to the purchasing process.
Responsabilidades

·  Execute daily MRP requirements to generate, adjust, or cancel purchase orders.

·  Ensure timely supply of materials to prevent production shortages.

·  Follow up with suppliers on delivery dates, confirmations, and shipment status.

·  Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data (lead times, MOQ, safety stock, pricing).

·  Monitor inventory levels and support reduction of excess and obsolete stock.

·  Manage basic supplier communication and escalate issues impacting production.

·  Review and act on exception messages (expedites, reschedules, cancellations).

·  Coordinate with Warehouse, Planning, Quality, and Production to resolve material issues.

·  Ensure required documentation is complete (invoices, packing lists, certifications).

·  Support internal and external audits by providing purchasing records.

·  Comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and company purchasing policies.

·  Assist in problem-solving activities related to delays, discrepancies, or shortages.

·  Participate in shortage meetings and communicate risks and recovery plans.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in Purchasing, MRP, Logistics, or Supply Chain within the manufacturing/maquiladora industry.

Technical Knowledge

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of MRP and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Infor).

  • Experience managing purchase orders and material planning parameters.

  • Basic negotiation skills.

  • Knowledge of inventory management, BOMs, and lead times.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, filters, basic analysis).

  • Ability to read engineering drawings (preferred).
