The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position ensures that the facility meets cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards through routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Maintain cleanliness of all common areas, resident rooms, offices, restrooms, and other assigned areas.
Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, floors, and high-touch surfaces according to established procedures.
Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and stored properly; notify administration when supplies are low.
Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
Follow all sanitary, safety, and infection control procedures.
Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the Administrator.
Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience
GED or High School Diploma required.
One (1) year of janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and understand cleaning procedures and safety instructions.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills required.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to recognize problems, use sound judgment, and seek assistance when needed.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
No certifications required.
