Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled General Mechanic specializing in heavy equipment and fleet maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and trailers to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires a minimum of two (2) years of hands-on mechanical experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and trailers, including oil changes, brake inspections, and general repairs.
· Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
· Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, pumps, hoses, belts, bearings, and seals.
· Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment complies with company, state, and federal regulations.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
· Communicate equipment issues, repair needs, and parts requirements to supervisors.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent repair needs, including overtime or weekends as required.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years of experience as a general mechanic working with heavy equipment or fleet vehicles.
· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, crouch, or kneel for extended periods.
