We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer Level I to join our R&D team, supporting the design, development, testing and maintenance of medical devices. This role involves working on both new product development and sustaining engineering, ensuring our products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, testing, and validation of electrical systems for medical devices.
  • Support circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical issues in existing designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, firmware, and software engineers.
  • Document and maintain design specifications, test reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Assist in regulatory testing (IEC 60601, EMC, and safety compliance).
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to support design transfer and production troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support for projects involving microcontroller, digital, and analog circuit design.
  • Perform component and sub-system level testing, prototyping.
  • Develop solutions by assisting in simulation and component selection.
  • Test and debug systems by evaluating and validating programs/systems and specifications for new and existing Spacelabs products.
  • Proactive, interdisciplinary, communication, both written and verbal.
  • Create technical and maintenance documentation as needed (ECO/EO, CAR, Test reports, etc.).
  • Special projects and other assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and experience in high technology product development.
  • 4 months’ experience in medical device company.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for PCB design (Altium, Eagle, or equivalent).
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design (internships or coursework preferred).
  • Experience in computer simulation and high reliable electronic designs is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of medical device regulatory standards (IEC 60601, FDA, ISO 13485) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated skills in analog and digital electronic design, familiar with EDA tools and methodologies, experience with LabView.
  • Experience in the development of medical devices is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience completing technical documentation for engineering and manufacturing.
  • Ability to interact and adhere to an established Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Understanding of compliance and pre-compliance testing.
  • Ability to validate hardware against design, product and market requirements
  • Experience in embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs, preferred.
  • Knowledge of power management circuits and signal processing, preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies, preferred.
  • Basic programming experience, with an emphasis on scripting for data analysis and automation, as well as firmware/software debugging/troubleshooting, preferred.
