JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Plant Manager will lead manufacturing for multi-disciplinary areas within a manufacturing facility, or one large manufacturing facility. This role will drive a People First, safety-driven culture and lead front line efforts in ensuring on-time delivery of products. The Senior Plant Manager will drive manufacturing operational excellence, identify and analyze new manufacturing technologies and best practices to support the overall business strategy. This role will work closely with Operations Leadership within the segments to ensure our customers are being served the highest quality products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee leaders and the plant manufacturing process/daily workflow of a larger facility with greater than 300 employees and set standards and processes to ensure safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost objectives are met.
  • Champion the Oshkosh Safety Management System in all areas of the operation.
  • Provide guidance and leadership of manufacturing processes for multiple production areas within one large facility or multi-disciplinary functions in a smaller facility.
  • Interact with external customers, business unit leadership and segment leadership on a frequent basis.
  • Support the strategy and long-range goals of the segment and business unit.
  • Design manufacturing objectives, establish work plans and set production schedules for areas of responsibilities; delegate assignments and ensure accountability for successful completion.
  • Analyze capital budget investment opportunities and make recommendations to operations/segment leads. Drive completion of capital projects while minimizing production impacts.
  • Partner with peers within Operations and Human Resources to strategically select and develop operations talent.
  • Work effectively with other internal departments upstream and downstream of operations to assure success of the business.
  • Support the performance management process and execute it to support career development and growth of team members and leaders.
  • Provide input to strategic plan: including timelines, reports, staffing plans, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communications.
  • Research and implement the appropriate application of continuous improvement tools and techniques to improve operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Operations leaders on labor planning to ensure proper staffing levels to service the business while effectively managing overhead costs.
  • Work with sourcing, purchasing and production control to minimize production and inventory costs.
  • Manage and assure adherence to budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for overall management, maintenance and security of all company facilities at the site.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Bachelor’s degree with eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of management experience leading and developing others in a manufacturing environment.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrated experience leading operations in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data and use it to set strategies and tactics.
  • Understand basic financial statements and the contribution of operations.

Pay Range:

$118,700.00 - $211,300.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
