Responsibilities

Education & Training

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography or
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine or
  • Graduate of an approved MRI technologist program through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).

Licensure/Certification

  • Valid certification from one of the following:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
    • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.

Qualifications

Essential Functions

  • Perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exercise professional judgment and maintain a demeanor consistent with quality patient care.
  • Deliver appropriate care by recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful procedure completion.
  • Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations for the assigned modality.
  • Adhere to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assess the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs.
  • Provide clear instructions to ensure patient cooperation and optimal results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, obtain clinical history, and accurately document all information.
  • Position patients, equipment, and associated devices, adjusting technical factors to obtain high‑quality images.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and correct patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is captured.
  • Apply MRI safety principles for patients, self, and others.
  • Understand and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all required QC tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administering contrast medication, with or without power injectors.
  • Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for contrast administration as ordered by a licensed practitioner.
  • Administer medical aid in cases of adverse reactions to contrast or other emergencies.
  • Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Assist in training and supervising student technologists and onboarding new technologists.
  • Use all Corporate Radiology computer systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure the safety of all patients and staff.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable regulations (ADA, FMLA, etc.).
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and educational requirements.
