Orla Mining is striving to be the emerging gold producer of choice with a geographically diversified asset base, a prospective development and exploration portfolio, an experienced management team with a successful track record, and a high-quality board and shareholder base.


Orla operates the Camino Rojo Oxide Gold Mine, a gold and silver open-pit heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas State, Central Mexico. This low-cost operation is 100% owned by Orla, covers over 139,000 hectares, and includes a large sulfide mineral endowment located beneath the oxide resources. We are also advancing permitting and development on our South Railroad Project, a feasibility-stage, open-pit heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin trend in Nevada. This project is part our larger South Carlin Complex which includes a prospective land package. We recently acquired the Musselwhite Mine located in Northern Ontario on Lake Opapimiskan, a gold mine with more than 25 years of operating history. The addition of Musselwhite has allowed Orla to more than double our gold production and provide a strategic entry into a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction.


The Musselwhite Mine is highly prospective with potential to expand resources and mine life for years to come.

Purpose
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety to join our Environmental Team at Orla Mining. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental monitoring, regulatory reporting, field-based environmental programs and collaboration across teams to ensure adherence responsible environmental practices. This individual will report directly to the Environmental Superintendent.


Responsibilities include:
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial and federal environmental regulations (ie. air, water, waste, hazardous materials)
• Plan, conduct and manage the environmental field programs as per site permits, initiatives and corporate requirements
• Coordinate environmental monitoring activities and maintain oversight of sampling programs, laboratories and data quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental performance life cycle management at the mine.
• Compile, review, and analyze environmental data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Assist in identifying and supporting progressive reclamation opportunities for inclusion in the mine business plan
• Prepare environmental reports for review by Environmental Superintendent prior to submission to government authorities and 
other stakeholders
• Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation
• Participate in site inspections and engage with other departments to promote environmental awareness and compliance
• Assist the Environmental Superintendent in various projects and assignments within the Environmental Department as required.


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of work experience in the environmental monitoring, compliance, or reporting, preferably in a mining or industry setting
• Demonstrate experience in environmental data management, reporting and documentation 
• Extensive knowledge of Canadian and Ontario legislation relevant to the mining industry
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
• Ability to work independently and within a team 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g.Sharepoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams) experience with MonitorPro or environmental 
databases considered an asset
• Familiarity with GIS platforms and exposure to modelling tools are considered an asset 
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail


Working Conditions:
The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day


Compensation:
• The salary for this position is CAD $107,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
• This role is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual short term incentive program. The target annual bonus for this
position is 15% of base salary, subject to individual and company performance.
• The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the 
option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
