Department Overview

The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Interventional Radiologist for an academic faculty position to lead the Body Interventional Radiology services as Chief of Body Interventional Radiology.  Interventional Radiology at OHSU is a free-standing academic department distinct from Diagnostic Imaging.  The Department has clinical sections at the main campus in Body IR and Neuro IR, and we also have two additional sections serving area contracted hospitals and the Portland Veterans Administration.  The Clinical Chiefs report to the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and the Department Chair.

 

The Body IR section at OHSU performs over 5,000 cases per year with high case-mix complexity and consistent year-over-year growth.  The section is engaged in the full gamut of IR care.  We have comprehensive inpatient services with consultation, rounding and procedural care.  Our ambulatory services are comprehensive with dedicated clinical space, support and an emphasis on longitudinal care for our patients. The ideal candidate should have broad experience in clinical interventional radiology, including being up to date with clinical data with a range of clinical experience.  The successful candidate will have a positive track record in programmatic leadership growing clinical practice, and the emphasis of the position is to run the clinical operations of the section. In addition to excellence in clinical care and teaching, the successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to academic interventional radiology and research.  The department runs a dedicated 10,000 sq/ft translational research facility and is also very active in clinical research with several collaborative clinical trials.

Required Qualifications

The position requires an MD degree (or equivalent), Oregon medical license and completion of ACGME-accredited training in interventional radiology. The candidate will be appointed at an academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
