Are you the employer? Manage your company page directly.
Every operation at the St. Gabriel, LA site depends on one thing happening behind the scenes: the right materials, services, and suppliers arriving on time, on budget, and fully compliant. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you are the person who makes that happen.
You begin your day by aligning priorities with the Procurement Manager, balancing multiple requests across engineering and non-engineering teams. You are not just managing workload, you are acting as a partner, enabler, and facilitator, ensuring internal customers receive value for every dollar spent while supporting the broader business strategy.
As the site’s procurement expert, you work closely with operations, mechanical, and electrical teams to understand their needs and translate them into smart commercial solutions. Whether sourcing engineering materials, spares, raw materials, or services, you lead supplier appraisals, selection, and negotiations for medium-complexity procurements, always securing optimal terms and conditions that meet both technical and commercial requirements.
Your role goes beyond buying. You help implement and continuously improve engineering and non-engineering procurement strategies, processes, procedures, and contractual standards. You support the development of strong, compliant supplier relationships—monitoring performance, driving improvement, and ensuring alignment with company policies, applicable laws, and contract law requirements.
You also play a key role in monitoring and reporting procurement spend, supporting the Procurement Manager with data, insights, and recommendations that improve efficiency and delivery standards across the business. Your ability to analyze spending, work confidently in SAP and Excel, and communicate clearly ensures decisions are informed and impactful.
From time to time, you may provide direct line management to temporary procurement resources, offering guidance and oversight to ensure continuity and quality of service.
Above all, you take ownership of your professional growth. You continuously develop your commercial expertise, influence stakeholders to adopt best-practice procurement approaches, and ensure compliance with agreed strategies and processes. Your success is measured not only by cost savings, but by internal customer satisfaction, supplier performance, and operational reliability.
