<p>Title: Surgical Assistant<br>Practice: Rochester Oral Surgery&nbsp;<br>Location: Rochester, NY</p> <p data-start="317" data-end="341"><strong data-start="317" data-end="341">Anticipated Schedule</strong></p> <ul data-start="342" data-end="452"> <li data-start="342" data-end="376"> <p data-start="344" data-end="376">Monday–Thursday: 8-hour shifts</p> </li> <li data-start="377" data-end="401"> <p data-start="379" data-end="401">Friday: 6-hour shift</p> </li> <li data-start="402" data-end="452"> <p data-start="404" data-end="452">Saturday: One Saturday per month, as scheduled</p> </li> </ul> <p>Pay: Starting at $22.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>Position Purpose</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <p>The surgical assistant is responsible for ensuring the compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients while practicing and providing safety in the work environment. The ideal candidate will assist oral surgeons during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.</p> <p><strong><u>Responsibilities: </u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care and service</li> <li>Communicate with all patients (both in-person and by phone) in a friendly and professional manner.</li> <li>Maintain positive, pleasant, and professional relationships between patients, staff members, and surgeons.</li> <li>Oral surgeons during surgical procedures and prepare instruments, materials, and equipment needed for various surgical procedures.</li> <li>Support efforts that provide a clean and professional environment for all patients, including, but not limited to, ensuring that operatories are clean, supplies are adequate, equipment is maintained, and compliance with all company policies is maintained.</li> <li>Monitor patient's vital signs during surgical procedures and provide support as needed.</li> <li>Assist with postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up instructions.</li> <li>Documentation of patient encounters and surgical procedures accurately.</li> <li>Collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, efficient workflow, and exceptional patient care.</li> <li>Attend and participate in regular team meetings.</li> <li>Adhere to best practices and established protocols and highest patient safety standards.</li> <li>Support monthly office checks: <ol> <li>Crash carts</li> <li>Fire extinguishers</li> <li>Emergency preparedness attestations</li> <li>Attest</li> <li>Xray unit calibration</li> <li>Omni-cam calibration</li> <li>Drug book accuracy Controlled substance inventory</li> <li>Oxygen tanks are full and hooked up.</li> <li>Invoices for controlled substances are being printed.</li> <li>Ensure proper controlled substance safety protocols are adhered to.</li> </ol> </li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Qualifications:&nbsp;</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Education/Certification:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required (some college, preferred)</li> <li>Previous clinical experience. Experience as an oral surgery assistant or dental assistant is preferred. (Will train the right candidate.)</li> <li>Basic life support certification required.
