We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Education and Languages:



Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee(s) will assist the Principal Investigator for the Research Project “Responsiveness to inclusive teaching in diverse contexts: A study of pre-service early childhood education teachers in Hong Kong, Australia, and Sweden”. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: 

  • Conducting literature searches;

  • Supporting the research team with data collection;

  • Assisting the research team in the analysis of survey data, employing techniques such as descriptive statistics and regression analysis;

  • Assisting the research team in the transcription and analysis of semi-structured interviews using coding techniques;

  • Assisting the research team in compiling comprehensive research reports; and

  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:

  • A Master’s degree or above, preferably in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or the Social Sciences;

  • Good qualitative and (or) quantitative analysis skills;

  • A genuine passion for research and strong intrinsic motivation for knowledge seeking;

  • Fluency in both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese);

  • English skills in reading, listening, writing, and speaking;

  • Punctuality, collegiality, and the ability to work effectively in a team; and

  • Experience in teacher training or educational research will be considered as an advantage.

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on a six-month contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
