We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in the research project “A pilot study of the experience of education-to-work transition from a class perspective: The case of social sciences students in higher education in the Hong Kong SAR” (Project No.: PFDS/2025/13).
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
conducting literature review;
providing support to data collection involving qualitative interviews, interview transcription; and
performing any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
full-time undergraduates of the University, preferably majoring in a social sciences discipline; and
have a high level of English proficiency as well as effective communication and organisation skills.
Preference will be given to candidates:
with strong knowledge on applied social studies, sociology, or higher education studies, experience in carrying out qualitative research;
competence in computer skills (MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint); and
with ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deadlines independently.
Duration of appointment
Successful candidate will be required to work not more than 17 hours per week for the period between January 2026 and December 2026.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions
