We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Information Technology Office:
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
Providing daily user desktop support, helpdesk support, networking setup/troubleshooting and quality assurance of computing services;
Supporting special projects as assigned;
Installing, maintaining and evaluating IT equipment at client side, e.g. PC, IoT device, etc.;
Providing professional front-line technical support regarding PC hardware/software, AV/LAN equipment and network cabling;
Carrying out technical and administrative duties/supports to various IT projects;
Providing student/staff support services;
Monitoring, administrating and supporting computing systems and services inside server rooms;
Performing other duties as assigned; and
May be required to work during evenings, weekends and/or public holidays.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
A recognized degree, in one of the following disciplines: Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computing Studies or equivalent;
At least 2 years’ solid work experience in IT hardware/software, PC Labs, AV equipment operations, helpdesk/user support, network setup/troubleshooting, cabling, project handling;
A good understanding of IT architecture, integration and design, and hardware and software of IT operations;
Good level of communication (in both Chinese and English), organizational, analytical and problem solving skills; and
A strong sense of responsibility to being an effective team player with self-motivation and work independently.
Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Information Technology Officer.
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
