About the job

Reporting to the Pharmacy Channel Lead, the Pharmacy Group Field & Account Manager plays a key role in accelerating Opella’s growth in Portugal by developing strong partnerships with pharmacy groups. The role combines central account management with hands‑on field activation to strengthen portfolio presence, improve execution in store, and drive sustainable, above‑market performance across assigned pharmacy groups.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the end‑to‑end management of assigned pharmacy groups, ensuring alignment with Opella’s commercial, marketing, and trade strategies.
  • Build, negotiate, and execute annual Joint Business Plans with group decision‑makers, covering sales objectives, promotional plans, visibility, training, and investment priorities.
  • Analyze group‑level and pharmacy‑level sell‑in and sell‑out performance, identify growth opportunities, and implement corrective or acceleration actions.
  • Drive field activation by regularly visiting pharmacies within the groups to ensure strong execution of cycle priorities and perfect store standards.
  • Ensure optimal distribution, planogram compliance, secondary visibility, and point‑of‑sale activation across the portfolio.
  • Train and support pharmacy teams to strengthen brand recommendation, category expertise, and sell‑out performance.
  • Foster close, trust‑based relationships with group stakeholders through regular communication, performance reviews, and joint planning.

About you

  • Proven experience in a commercial role within pharmaceutical, OTC, FMCG, or healthcare retail environments, with exposure to managing customer groups and activating brands in store.
  • Strong account management and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and deliver joint business plans with decision‑makers.
  • Solid analytical capabilities, using data to identify insights, prioritize actions, and deliver results.
  • Autonomous and solution‑oriented, with strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling collaboration across cross‑functional teams and with customers.
  • Comfortable using common IT tools and digital platforms (e.g. Office tools, CRM systems).
  • Native‑level Portuguese and fluent English are required for this role.
